How to care for Succulents
Various genera
Written by Benjamin — a plant parent, not a search engine.
How often should I water Succulents, and what light does it need?
Succulents store water in their plump leaves. Give them the brightest window you have and water only when the soil is completely dry. Water it every 10–14 days while it is growing and every 21–30 days in winter, always checking the soil first. Give it direct sun. It is non-toxic to cats and dogs — more detail below.

The short version
The one-sentence rule
Soak the soil completely, then leave them alone until fully dry. Most succulents die from love (water), not neglect.
Light, made concrete
What direct sun actually means
Direct sun — a sunny south or west sill, several hours of true sunlight a day. Perfect for succulents, cacti and aloe.
Pet safety
Is Succulents toxic to cats or dogs?
No — Most are safe, though jade plants can cause mild upset. It is not considered toxic to pets, but any plant can upset a sensitive stomach, so it is still not a salad bar.
